The Kajjansi Flying School is a UCAA Approved Training Organization (ATO). What does that mean to you, the student? Since we are approved by the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA), our flight school must meet stringent standards above those required for non-approved training facilities. Our aircrafts, instructors and record keeping must be audited by the UCAA at least once per year to ensure w conform to these higher standards. In addition, we conduct internal audits to ensure that you, our customer, are receiving the best and most cost efficient training as possible.
Cessna 172 aircrafts are used for flight training. This high-wing four seat aircraft provides an ideal training platform and touring vehicle. The Cessna 172 is one of the most common and popular aircraft in the world. As such, they make the ideal choice for training and taking passengers once you receive your license. KFS aircrafts are maintained at our own UCAA Approved on-site maintenance facility by highly qualified engineers according to strict maintenance schedules.
The PPL course consists of a minimum of 40 hours flight time, which is stipulated by the UCAA Regulations. Remember, this is a MINIMUM requirement, and your completion of the course in the minimum required time is dependent on several factors, including the regularity of your flying, study habits, weather delays etc. our highly experienced Instructors will assist you in every way possible to ensure you finish as close to the minimums as possible.
In addition to the flight training, you will have one-on-one ground school with instructor. Formal ground school is also conducted to prepare you for the UCAA written knowledge exams. All of the material necessary for you knowledge and practical tests will be covered in the ground school and personal study from books supplied in your student pack. Experience has shown that keeping abreast of theory in parallel with flight training gives the best progress and results.
Once all of your training is completed, you will be recommended by your instructor to take the Practical Test. KFS is unique in having a UCAA Approved Pilot Examiner on staff which will make scheduling of your test easier and less expensive.
There is no formal time-table, and training is conducted at the student’s convenience whenever scheduling allows. Although we try to keep you with the same instructor, on occasion you may be re-assigned to a different instructor due to scheduling and for your stage checks.
