Butende Technical Institute (BTI) is a Church founded school of the Diocese of Masaka, registered by Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) and a member of Uganda Association of Private Vocational Institutions (UGAPRIVI).
It was established in the 1982 with support from KAB Stuttgart/Rottenburg and KAB Regensburg after President Amin / Obote war. BTI is located 15 KMs from Masaka town along Masaka- Kampala high way. Students enrolled are mostly from average income families and vulnerable communities, though middle and high class have lately started joining.
Butende Technical Institute has a mission to fully train job creators who will usefully and comfortably help societies in order to widen the scope of employment in Uganda
Butende Technical Institute offers training and skills to students with the experience of over 30 years in training practical courses and their teaching staff delivers the best in line with the Mission of the Institute.
Butende Technical Institute(BTI) has a mission to fully train job creators who will usefully and comfortably help societies in order to widen the scope of employment in Uganda hence making Butende Technical Institute a place of Godliness and good upbringing of learners through Educational programmes, Moral and Spiritual formation.

The Mission of ( BTI) is to provide quality education and technical training that will enable each student to reach his or her potential.
The Institution’s motto is “Advance with Technology!” and they fully espouse that philosophy. The aim is that every student who comes through the institution doors is successful and accomplishes their career goals.
