Mandela Secondary School Hoima was started way back in June 1997 under the sole proprietorship of Mr. Bategeka Lawrence. The school has two campuses, the junior campus (Annex campus), located behind the King’s palace and the Main campus located in Kiryatete west, along Mandela Rd.
The school is a fully fledged O and A’ level, Mixed Day and Boarding, with excellent teaching staff, sufficient boarding facilities, good academic environment, good lighting system, good sanitation and comfortable accommodation facilities. The school has experienced and dedicated group of teachers and administrators trained both locally and internationally. Each teacher strives to create a supportive and challenging classroom atmosphere to encourage students to participate. Mandela has a team of qualified staff with long teaching experience and highly dedicated to their work.

The school is guided by a mission; We carefully provide knowledge, morals and skills that transform a student into a successful and responsible citizen. The mission is aimed at developing the three domains in a student i.e. the cognitive domain (the head), the affective domain (the heart) and the psychomotor domain (the hand). Curriculum
Mandela Secondary School follows the Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) curriculum for both O’Level and A’Level education. We offer the following subjects based on the syllabus of the Uganda National Examinations Board leading to the award of the Uganda Certificate of Education and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education; Literature in English, History, Geography, Fine, Art, Entrepreneurship, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, English Language, Commerce, Computer studies (ICT), Christian Religious Education, Economics.
