Kasumba Nursery and Primary School was established in 2006 in memory of the late Ludovick Kasumba who was an educationist and exemplary teacher in Mubende District. The late Kasumba served as a teacher and Headmaster for more than 30 years between 1951 and 1985 in various schools in the District. Some of the schools he taught include Katente Primary School, Kakindu Primary School, and St Mary’s Primary School.
The school Vision is, “A school with a difference”. and has a Mission to ensure that the child is developed holistically, i.e. academically, socially and spiritually, so as to become a useful citizen in the country.

Academics
It boasts of very competent, experienced, devoted and self-motivated teaching staff who guide the pupils in all aspects of life i.e, academically, socially, spiritually and morally. The school has a well equipped computer laboratory and library which enable pupils to enrich their knowledge over technology advancement and enhancing a reading culture within them.
Co-curriculum Activities
The school is different from other schools in the district, whereby in addition to normal education curriculum, it has co-curriculum activities that include vocational training to develop creativity, self-awareness and self-esteem. Such activities include computer training, farming clubs, and other hands-on-skills activities among others
Children’s Requirements
The School provides the children with some scholastic materials, beds and mattresses. However the parent/guardian purchases the school uniform from the School, and provides other requirements to the child, including the casual wear for the boarders.

Meals
The meals provided to the children consist of a balanced diet that is prepared on the advice of a nutritionist that allow the children’s brains to grow properly, and boosts their immunity so as to minimize falling sick/ill. The day scholars get break tea, lunch and evening tea, while the boarders get well balanced diet at breakfast, break tea, lunch, evening tea, and supper. The parents/guardians are discouraged from bringing and giving any food to the children while at school.
Teachers
All the teachers are well qualified for pre-primary and primary school-going age children, and come from the best schools in the country. They have a lot of experience to look after the children.
Health
The School has a full-time nurse who checks on the health of the children. It has two Child days in a year (March and October) where children below the age of seven (7) years are provided with Vitamin A, de-worming tablets, and their weight and height recorded to monitor their normal growth. In addition, it also has well equipped First Aid kits used to administer treatment for minor sickness like flu, cough, bruises among others.
