Joy Dominion Academy started out as a girls-only secondary school located along the Jinja-Iganga Highway in Musita, Mayuge District, Uganda (East Africa). Not until 2017, Joy Dominion Academy was the only girls’ school in the district of Mayuge providing quality education.
In 2016, after a board meeting, it was passed by the members to start admitting boys too, and as that, Joy Dominion Academy is now a mixed boarding secondary school.
The School’s curriculum combines the structure, rigour and transferability of the Uganda National Curriculum, with the broad, holistic and constructive approach of the National Council for Higher Education. Finally, we have added our own innovative elements such as “Learning to Learn” to create a curriculum that has depth and breadth and is both relevant and exciting to today’s students and addresses the social challenges.
Admission to the Joy Dominion Academy is on merit and though it’s founded on the Christian faith, it admits students of all faiths. It provides secular education which is in line with the Uganda national goals and objectives of education. The school recognizes the global trends and has always organized and re-organized its curricula to suit the needs of the changing world basing on the national curriculum.
