The seeds of girls’ secondary education planted during the oppressive regime of President Amin have grown and flourished.Bishop Kivengere Girls' School

To provide the Girl Child with education that empowers students to become aware of their self-worth, making every effort to help them achieve their potential in learning, leadership and service to God and to the community.

The School which began with only 40 girls in Senior One now has 400+ students doing courses up to “A” Level in all the Government curriculum subjects, plus some practical courses, with a well-qualified teaching staff.

It was surely God’s protection and provision which brought our small school safely through a regime of extreme Moslem persecution of the Church. The words of Philippians 1 v. 21, “To me to live is Christ and to die is gain”, sank into our hearts. Perhaps it was the deep bonds forged in those years which have produced mature Christian women in professional and family life both in Uganda and beyond. During the 40 years, 1974-2014, approximately 4,000 girls have been educated at our School.

We look to the future with the New Hall in progress, the installation of 40 computers and the internet connection and a revived Alumnae Association. We are very grateful to all our friends and supporters in this on going work, but above all we worship and give thanks to our God and Father for His gift of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, “the same yesterday, today and forever.” Heb. 13.
