Covenant Bible Institute of Theology (CBIT) is a college which is training pastors and other church workers in ministerial and pastoral programs. It is the center of theological education for the more than eighty churches in the Eastern Presbytery of Uganda. The Institute also admits students from other denominations for theological training, after which they go back to serve their sending churches.
The mission of Covenant Bible Institute of Theology is to provide a Christ-centered, Bible-based education in the reformed tradition. We are committed to preparing servant-leaders who think Biblically, live spirit-filled lives, fulfill the great commission and glorify God in all that they do. We are located within the town of Mbale along Kumi road next to the Nabuyonga Bridge.
Recognition of Covenant Bible Institute of Theology
Covenant Bible Institute of Theology is a fully registered institution under the Ministry of Education and Sports in the Republic of Uganda. And therefore it is approved by the Ministry of Education to offer vocational courses besides theology. The Institutipn is recognized among the Christian Churches as a school that is true to the Bible and with a holistic approach to theology. It is engaged in training ministers of the gospel according to scriptures. Most of our students are not only from Uganda but also from Kenya and Tanzania.

Programs
Covenant Bible Institute of Theology offers an intensive three-year core academic Diploma in Bible and Theology. This curriculum covers 42 courses with a total of 102 credit hours which are required to complete the program in three academic years. The Institute has also introduced new courses according to the demands of our society today for a Certificates level. These are professional courses: Business management, project management, computer courses, and languages (Professional English, New Testament Greek, Kiswahili, and French). The certificate courses take six months to two years depending on course requirements.
