Algebright Institute of Electronic Technology & Management was established in 1999 as an ICT center in Soroti district in Eastern region. This was part of the Uganda government program to increase access to affordable ICT based information and communication services to the population.
The institute is being funded by the German Development Cooperation (KfW) under the IP-BTVET program and Uganda Communications Commission (UCC). Under Rural Communication Development Fund (RCDF).
It is a Private Technical Institute registered and licensed by Ministry of Education and Sports (MoES) registration No.ME/22/3389 and PTI/A/16
The Institute has two training centers one in Soroti District within the municipality, opposite Soroti sports ground central avenue plot 24A/B and the second in Katakwi District, within the town council next to police station.
