Fins Medical University (FMU) is the first medical university in Africa started in 2010 as a nurses and midwifery training college, the institution was licensed by the Ministry of Education. In 2018, after due consideration with the support from other professional bodies for example Uganda Nurses and midwifery council and other government departments, the university was granted a license.
The major emphasis is on developing health programs that are geared towards solving health challenges in our communities. In an attempt to achieve our target, the university has attracted and recruited quality staff, set up standard laboratories and fully equipped the Library. These are to help us train quality health workers in all fields and conduct research so as to find solutions for the health challenges in Africa.
